LOCALI STORICI

Nel 1763 nasce il Bicerin, in Piazza della Consolata, 5. Qui è stato servito per la prima volta il Bicerin (cioccolata, caffè e fior di latte), una bevanda tipica torinese che ancora oggi conserva il suo gusto unico e delizioso. Da sempre il locale è stato gestito solo da donne, conservando la sua atmosfera familiare e confortevole.

Spostandoci in Piazza Castello, 15 troviamo il Caffè Mulassano in cui negli anni 20 è stata lanciata la moda del tramezzino. Nato nel 1907 è un ambiente prezioso, ricco di marmi, specchi, decorazioni floreali in bronzo e con il soffitto a cassettoni. In passato era il ritrovo abituale dei notabili di casa Reale e degli artisti del vicino Teatro Regio, oggi è frequentata di habitués e offre splendidi aperitivi e indimenticabili tramezzini all'aragosta, al burro e acciuga o al salame d'oca.

Un altro locale di alta classe è il caffè-confetteria Baratti, fornitore ufficiale della Real Casa. Posto fra la Galleria Subalpina e Piazza Castello, fu aperto nel 1875 da Ferdinando Baratti e Edoardo Milano e vi accoglie con un magnifico bancone in marmo e due salette tappezzate di raso rosso, distinguendosi per una finissima pasticceria.

Se si vuole fare un salto in Via Po, 8 si può passare al famoso Caffè letterario Fiorio. Nato nel 1780 fu meta di nobili, diplomatici e intellettuali come Cavour, D'Azeglio, Lamarmora, Rattazzi e frotte di diplomatici e ufficiali, tanto da essere soprannominato il caffè dei codini e dei Machiavelli.

In Piazza Carignano, 8 troviamo Pepino, l'inventore del gelato da passeggio, un gelato alla crema ricoperto di cioccolato fondente su un bastoncino di legno.
Sulla spettacolare veduta di Piazza San Carlo si affacciano tre gioielli storici:
Caffè San Carlo, inaugurato nel 1822 è un trionfo neoclassico di specchi, capitelli, ori e stucchi che fu un prestigioso salotto intellettuale percorso da forti fermenti di patriottismo e anche il primo locale ad avere adottato l'illuminazione a gas nell'800.

Al numero 204 di Piazza San Carlo, si trova il Caffè Torino. Inaugurato nel 1903 è un elegante salotto mondano in stile liberty, di fama internazionale, dove sono passati attori famosi come Ava Gardner e Walter Chiari, Macario e Brigitte Bardon e dispone anche di un ristorante aperto tutti i giorni a pranzo e a cena.

Dall'altra parte della Piazza al numero 191 si trova l'antica confetteria Stratta che risplende con i suoi specchi e i legni patinati custodendo incredibili dolcezze, come la crema gianduia, i colorati fondants con la goccia e i famosi marrons glacès, pelati amano uno a uno.

Citiamo ancora il Caffè Platti, in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 72. Nato nel 1875 come liquoreria e arredato in stile liberty con nastri, putti e stucchi fu meta preferita di nobili e artisti quali Cesare Pavese e Giulio Einaudi e il Senatore Agnelli. Nella sala interna si può trovare un ricco buffet freddo ed è soprattutto un locale da aperitivo o da prima colazione.

LOCALI STORICI

Il Bicerin , at 5 of piazza della Consolata , was founded in 1763. Here had origin the "bicerin" ( mixed chocolate,coffè and milk cream) a typical Turin drink that untill today has preserved its unique and delicious taste. From its origin the cafe was managed by females only and today also has a warm family atmosphere.

If we move to 15 of Piazza Castello we find Mulassano Cafe , where in the 20ies began the fashion of "tramezzino" .Established in 1907 it's a precious place , full of marbles , mirrors , bronze floral decorations and with a lacunar ceiling. In past it was the usual meeting place of Royal house notables and of artists of close Teatro Regio, in our days it's patronized by habituès and offers delicious apperitifs and unforgettable sandwiches with lobster , with butter and anchovy or with goose salami.

Another first class place is the cafe - confectionery Baratti, official supplier to the Royal House.Located between the Subalpina Gallery and piazza Castello , it was started in 1875 by Ferdinando Baratti and Edoardo Milano and it receives you with a magnificent marble deskand two littlerooms hung with red satin. It's famous for the tasting confectionery.

At 8 of piazza Carignano we find Pepino , the inventor of the ice cream for walking , an ice cream covered in dark chocolate on a stick of wood.
On the spectacular view of piazza San Carlo three hystorical gems are facing:
the Cafè San Carlo opened in 1822 and is a neoclassical triumph of mirrors , capitals ,gold and stucco which was a prestigious intellectual salon which ran trough strong stirrings of patriotism and was also the first local to have adopted gas lighting in 800..

At 204 of piazza San Carlo is the Cafè Torino. Opened in 1903 is an elegant lounge in fashionable Art Nouveau style , of international fame , where famous actors have gone as Ava Gardner , Walter Chiari , Macario and Brigitte Bardot and also has a restaurant opened daily for lunch and dinner.

Across the square , at number 191 , is the ancient confectionery Stratta which shines with its mirrors and varnished wood presserving incredible sweets as the hazelnut cream Gianduia , the colorful fondants with the drop and the famous Marrons Glacès handly peeled one by one.

We should also mention the Cafè Platti at 72 of Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Established in 1875 as spirits shop and decorated in Art Nouveau style with ribbons , cherubs and stucco , was the preferred choice for nobles and artists such as Cesare Pavese and Giulio Einaudi and Senator Agnelli. In the inner room you can find a rich cold buffet and it is primarily a place to drink apetizers or for breakfast

ENDROITS HISTORIQUES

Le Bicerin naît 5 Piazza della Consolata en 1763. Le Bicerin a été servi ici pour la toute première fois. Il s'agit d'une boisson typiquement turinoise (chocolat, café et crème de lait), qui aujourd'hui encore garde son goût unique et délicieux. Ce café est depuis toujours uniquement géré par des femmes, et conserve au fil du temps son atmosphère familiale et confortable.

Nous nous déplaçons 15 Piazza Castello où nous trouvons le Café Mulassano, c'est ici que fut lancée la mode du sandwich "tramezzino" dans les années 20. Ce café né en 1907 est caractérisé par un cadre précieux, riche de marbre, miroirs, décorations floréales en bronze et un plafond à caissons. Autrefois rendez-vous habituel des notables de la Maison Royal, proche du Théâtre Reggio, ce lieu est aujourd'hui fréquenté par des habitués et offre de splendides apéritifs et d'inoubliables "tramezzini" à la langouste, au beurre et anchois ou au jambon d'oie.

Le café- rafraichissements Baratti est un autre endroit de grande classe, fournisseur officielle de la Maison royale. Situé entre la Galleria Subalpina et Piazza Castello, ce café ouvert en 1875 par Ferdinando Baratti et Edoardo Milano vous accueille avec un magnifique comptoir en marbre et deux salles tapissées de satin rouge et il se distingue par une pâtisserie d'une grande finesse.

De l'autre côté de la place, au numéro 191, nous trouvons l'ancienne confiserie Stratta qui resplendit avec ses miroirs ses bois glacés. Cet endroit garde d'incroyables douceurs, comme la crème "gianduja", les fondants colorés avec la goutte et les célèbres marrons glacés, épluchés un par un à la main.

Nous parlons encore du Caffè Platti, situé 72 Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Né en 1875 comme magasin de liqueurs, ce café est décoré selon le style Liberty avec des rubans, des puttos et des stucs et fut la destination préférée des nobles et des artistes tels que Cesare Pavese et Giulio Einaudi et le sénateur Agnelli. Dans la salle interne se trouve un riche buffet froid et surtout une pièce pour les apèritifs et les petits déjeuners.
